Wednesday we debated the tax bill in the Committee of the Whole. The tax bill passed and will be voted on today in final action. It was another long day. After being in the house all day. Most of us had committee meetings starting at 5 pm and going until finished. Then we go grab a bite to eat and figure out our next days work. But, while in Topeka we forget about our families and the sacrifices they make so we can be here and serve our state. Some people may say "well you signed on for the job so quit complaining". However, our families did not sign on for the job and they are faced with many challenges while we are away. I want to say to my wife, " Diane I know this last three months have not been easy and it seems to be getting tougher by the moment, you are the best partner in life I could every ask for and I will have a hard time ever making up for what you have done and the sacrifice you are making right now for me". "Diane I love you and I will make this time up to you when I get home, all I can say is thank you so much you are the love of my life". Happy Thursday from Topeka.
