Wednesday was a good day in the House. We passed 3 bills out of the Committee of the Whole. They were HB 2052, HB 2055 and HB 2199. HB 2052 spells out the exemptions when it is permissible to discharge a fire arm in the City Limits. HB 2055 amended Kansas Concealed care law having to do with being able to conceal carry in certain Governmental Property to include state and municipal buildings. It was awesome when a representative on the democrat side of the isle was trying to be smart and offered an amendment to be able to conceal carry inside the State Capital. Needless to say we Republicans took him up on it and passed it. He voted no on his own amendment. That was funny. HB 2199 is the Second Amendment Protection Act which tells the federal government that a firearm manufactured in the state of Kansas, possessed and used in the state of Kansas does not have anything to do with Interstate commerce and thus the federal gun laws do not apply. It is a 10th amendment bill. We passed them all. Yeah!!!!!! Happy Thursday form Topeka.
