Wednesday was a wild day. I had the Gore and Barton Scholars at the house to be recognized for their academic accomplishments. Then I carried my second bill in the Committee of the Whole. That one did not go well. Marc Rhoades took exception to the dollars coming out of the State General Fund and thus moved that the bill be sent back to committee and change the fiscal note. We worked a bill in the Health Committee and passed it out. Last evening I attended the reception sponsored by the Kansas Health Care Association. They are an association of Long Term Care facilities. I had a great time at this reception. There were not many people there as most everyone left town trying to beat the snow storm coming this way. I stayed in Topeka as Wichita already had 6 inches of snow last night and I did not want to fight it all the way home. So, I extend a Happy Thursday to you all from Topeka.
