Monday was a big day and things are really starting to get busy in the Capitol. The day started out with Emporia State University Breakfast for Alumni in the Legislature. There were 10 or so of us at the breakfast. Some bills that are being introduced just make you shake your head. Other bills, their time has come and they may make it into the debate. Many bills are starting to make it out of committee, so our time in the Committee of the Whole will increase. In the Pension and Benefits committee we passed out two bills yesterday. We heard testimony in the Health Committee. The fun part of yesterday was meeting with 3 students from WSU. They were at the Capitol letting us know what their thoughts are on certain issues. I found this students very engaging and sharp on the issues. I wish I would have been that tuned into the political issues of the day when I was in college. But, I was to busy having fun.
