Tuesday we heard our first bill in the Health and Human Services committee. HB2435 is a bill to ban children under age 18 from using Tanning beds at tanning facilities. It was an interesting hearing. I had never seen a person who says he is a proponent of the bill testify in such a manner. He represented the Tanning Association. He said he supports the bill and then spends 40 minutes or so telling us why we do not need this bill. I think he did not represent his constituency very well. I thought the doctors made their points very well. However, the Tanning Association representative seemed to just be angry. Well you see all kinds. Happy Wednesday from your Capitol.
