Yesterday I attended a meeting at Judge Riddel Boys Ranch. The Sedgwick County Manager laid out the counties position that if the State did not raise the reimbursement level to $201 per boy per day they would close the facility effective 7/1/2014. The Kansas Secretary of Corrections position seem to be, we have enough open beds that if the county does close the facility it won't have much effect on the system. I believe from the meeting it was evident what the end result will be.
