28 years ago today I married my college sweetheart. It was a hot Saturday afternoon in Fredonia, KS. I wanted a January wedding, Diane wanted a July wedding. I think it was the hottest day of the summer. We were surrounded by friends and family, Kappa Sig fraternity brothers and Starduster little sisters. We went back to Emporia that evening and had a party at the Kappa Sig house. Fraternity brother Steve Kucharo worked at the Ramada Inn and he got use the honeymoon suite as a weeding gift. It was a great start to a life long commitment. Twenty eight years later I know I made the right decision. I cannot imagine not being with Diane. We have made it through good times and bad times. We know we can count on each other. We have 22 years left to hit that 50th wedding anniversary. We will make it just like we have the past 28 years, by supporting each other through thick and thin. I love you Diane, happy 28th wedding anniversary.
