I found interesting a study done in Oregon on the health effects of Medicaid. This randomized, controlled study showed that Medicaid coverage generated no significant improvements in measured physical health outcomes in the first 2 years of the study. The New England Journal of Medicine just published the findings after the first two years. So, my conclusion would be that we would see no significant improvement from the expansion of Medicaid in Kansas. However, the cost of Medicaid expansion would be astronomical.
