We have Today and Friday off for a four day holiday weekend. Thursday was a day for me to go and get my annual physical. Well the doctor told me I was well enough to go back and do some good work for the state in the House of Representatives. But he said I had better do more walking and cut out the carbs to get my diabetes in better control. Do you know how hard it is to eat right in Topeka. First, most of the lunches at our meetings are box lunches. Second we attend anywhere form 1 to 3 and as high as 5 receptions in an evening. I did make a rule to only eat at one of the receptions a night. However, most of the time they are filled with carbs. Doc. said no more excuses. So, I guess I had better head his warning and walk more and eat less carbs. I know my office mate Keith Esau will help with my conscience. I know my friends Brian Weber, Mark Kahrs and Brett Hildabrand will jab me every time I look at eating something I shouldn't. And don't forget my breakfast buddies, Larry Hibbard and Will Carpenter, I am sure they will keep me out of the biscuits and gravy. Man, it almost sounds like a team event doesn't it. Happy Thursday from home in Wichita.
