Monday was a nice day in Wichita. One of my constituents who is a 1st grade teacher at OK Elementary asked me to read to hear 1st grade class as part of the Read Across America week. I ended up reading to all 4 1st grade classes. It was a fun time and I would do it again. The kids absolutely loved it and it was fun seeing all those smiling little faces. Then I spent some time with my mom. She has Alzheimer's and is in an assisted living facility. She wanted me to take her home. She is so confused. She has really aged these last 2 years. It is sad to see her in a failing condition. I spent the rest of the day at home with my family. It is nice to be home. I truly miss home. We have 4 and a half weeks left before we get a break for the month of April. We will have off 3 weeks in April and the 1st week of May. Then we will go back to Topeka for the Veto Session. I hope the Veto Session will not be long. We will see. Happy Tuesday from home in Wichita.
