Wednesday was an eventful day at the Capitol. About 3:00 pm the fire alarm goes off. Everyone exits the building, it was just like grade school when we had a drill. The only thing it was all adults. We all stood outside until the all clear. It was nice outside so I don't think anyone minded. Things are starting to heat up in the Pension and Benefits committee. We will start working on some bills really soon. We have to make some adjustments to turn the ship around. We heard two bills in the Health Committee on Wednesday and passed the Physical Therapist bill out of committee with a 12/2 vote. It will now go to the house and be heard in the Committee of the Whole. We had 4 receptions Wednesday evening but I only made it to three. I had bacon raped shrimp at the first one, BBQ Brisket at the second and Shrimp Cocktail at the third. Then it was time to go to the apartment and call it a night. Three reception between 5:30 and 8:00 pm. Night bad for a nights work. Happy Thursday from Topeka.
