Wednesday was the end of morning committee meetings until after turn around. Friday is turn around day which means that all bills that are going to the Senate to be heard must be voted out of the house by the end of business Friday. We heard around 20 bills in the Committee of the Whole yesterday. They will be on final action for the last vote today. Then we will be hearing 48 bills in the Committee of the Whole today. This could be an extremely long day in the Committee of the Whole. There are some contentious bills coming up today. That will certainly lengthen the debate time. The emails are heating up again. As these bills come up the emails really increase as constituents way in on the issues. It is good to hear from the constituents as we are here to represent our districts. Of course the Chamber starts to way in as well letting us know that a certain bill is a key vote for them. Happy Thursday from Topeka.
