Tuesday was an interesting day in a good way. I met with the Speaker of the House at 7 am to get his assistance in keeping the Mandate Lite Health Insurance Bill alive. It is in the hands of the Speaker, we will see what happens. Yesterday was (ESU) Emporia State University Day at the Capitol. All of the people from ESU and some legislators had a group picture with the Governor in his ceremonial office. Rep. Vern Swanson read in a Proclamation at the Well of the House honoring ESU on its 150th anniversary. Rep. Don Hill also talked from the Well of the House about ESU. It was great seeing my Alma Mater being recognized by the House of Representatives. Yesterday the Sgt. of Arms of the House of Representatives was laid to rest. His funeral was at 11 am. It was sad. Today will be very busy as all the bills that were supposed to be on the calendar will make it on today. Happy Wednesday for Topeka.
