Monday we did the peoples work in Topeka. I was surprised that with it being a Federal holiday that we were open for business at the State Capitol. We had more plan design testimony in Pension and Benefits and we heard testimony on a KDHE bill in the Health Committee. We had final action votes on 4 bills in the House today. The rest of the day I spent trying to get the Mandate Lite Health Insurance bill moved forward in the Insurance Committee. Still have some more work to do on that today. The senate has already passed a competing bill. That poses some problems as it does not have all the language in it we need. I met with the Chairman of the Senate committee that worked the bill to see what we could do on this issue. I gave her my bill and she is going to talk with her members so they will know what we are doing in the house. I am hopeful we can keep this issue moving forward. Happy Tuesday from Topeka
