I stayed in Topeka this weekend to attend my college fraternity (Kappa Sigma) district conclave. All chapters in Kansas were at Washburn University for the district conclave. It was great seeing what the fraternity is doing to promote Membership, Leadership, Scholarship and various other initiatives. We had our Worthy Grand Treasurer in attendance. He flew in from Maryland. We also had alumni volunteers in to assist in the days events. It was a great time and a learning experience for the undergraduate brothers. The alumni brothers present had their own breakout session to learn about these initiatives and how we can help our undergraduate chapter in becoming better.

I have been staying clear of the Ramada Inn where I stay except to come home to sleep as this weekend was Washington Days, the Democrats State Convention. Man this place is pack. I hope it clears out Sunday so we can have our parking back.
