We received the advance ballot information yesterday for the 100th District. On Oct. 17th 3322 voters in the 100th District will receive their advance ballot. If we are correct that there will be 8000 people vote in our district, then 41% of them will have received their advance ballot. That is an amazing figure. However the election office is predicting that over 50% of the voters in Sedgwick County will participate in Advance Balloting in one form or another. And with this being an historic election, my 8000 figure may be off. We could see as many as 11,000 people vote in this election in my district. Based on past elections I think it will be close to that 8000 figure.
In preparation for Oct. 17th we have been out in the district doing a district wide literature drop. We started last Monday and will finish by Tuesday Oct. 16th. We will have put literature on 10,000 doors. I have received many calls from this literature drop. So, I know it has been successful. We have been putting out our yard signs. We will be working on this part of the campaign all week this week. By the end of the week the 100th District should see Hawkins signs everywhere. We have 3 weeks left and the pace of the campaign is picking up to a fever pitch. We are looking forward to election day.
